Libyan opposition rejects foreign military support to topple Qathafi

Some 300 Libyan opposition figures stressed rejection to return back on the deck of an American tank to Tripoli to achieve its objectives of toppling the regime of the Libyan President Muammar al-Qathafi, as a first step to establish "rule of law" Libya.
The opposition called in conclusion of its conference which was held in London, on Qathafi to leave the authority peacefully, form an interim government with the basic mission of bringing the country back to constitutional life through calling for the election of a constituent national society that is to review the constitution under the supervision of the USA.
In its final statement, which it called the "declaration of national consensus", the opposition considered that the only constitutional legitimacy in Libya is represented in the constitution of 1951 which was approved and ratified by the constituent national society under the supervision of the UN Security Council on Libya.
News reports in London said that the conferees stressed their strong rejection to any military foreign intervention to achieve the optimum political reforms in the country. The reports indicated that the opposition did not show objection to receive any morale foreign support for its efforts, even if such support is given by the US or Britain.
Among the main opposition organizations that took part in the conference were: the national alliance; the national front for Libya's rescue; the republical coalition for democracy and justice, the Libyan national front, the Libyan movement for change and reforms, and the Islamic coalition, as well as several independents and certain figures which represent the moderate Islamic trend.
The Libyan Muslim Brothers group and certain opposition figures had announced boycotting works of the conference in protest of limiting the frame of the conference, besides the conference's political address was emotional apart from realism and logic.
Though several opposition side had boycotted the conference, however, member of the conference's preparatory committee Muhammad Ali considered it as successful by all means. He explained that it is for the first time in which all opposition groups were met and that they succeeded in forming a follow up commission and drawing set programs. He attributed the weak participation in the conference from inside Libya to he called security conditions.
