Six American marines killed in Falluja

A spokesman for the American army said that two US marines were killed and other three together with one sailor were considered missing following a booby trapped car explosion that targeted an American military vehicle in one of the streets of Falluja city on Thursday evening.
Earlier, the US army said that many of its soldiers were injured in a suicide attack that targeted a convoy for the marines in Falluja city on late Thursday evening.
In another field development, four Iraqis were killed on Friday at least including one army officer and other 8 were injured in an attack by machine guns and mortars that targeted a position for the Iraqi police in Musil city in the north of Iraq.
One explosive went off against a military vehicle running in al-Sader city to the east of Baghdad. The American forces blocked the place and no casualties were declared.
On the other hand, the American army announced the killing of five gunmen said to belong to al-Qaida organization, during confrontations that erupted in Baghdad after a failed attempt to carry out a suicide attack.
At least 19 Iraqis were killed, half of them members of the police force, while other 70 were injured in the blowing up of four booby trapped cars in al-Karradah area in Baghdad on Thursday.
On the other hand, a military source said the American forces found a 90 kg explosive in the same quarters which had witnessed two other attacks in which mortars were used. The attacks came when the leader of al-Qaida organization in Mesopotamia, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, announced the killing of a major wanted man in Saudi Arabia in al-Qaem city close to the borders with Syria.
