Paris, Washington intensified pressure on Damascus
Syria-USA, Politics, 6/24/2005

At the international level, both Paris and Washington on Thursday intensified their pressure on Damascus and held it openly responsible for what is taking place in Lebanon.

Following a meeting that included the French foreign minister Philip Dust Plazy with his American peer in London on Thursday, the French foreign minister urged the international community to prove determination to forcing all foreign forces out of Lebanon and not to interfere in its internal affairs.

On the American side a high ranking official at the US state department asked to be anonymous said that Washington is sure that members of Syrian intelligence are in Lebanon working for the destabilization of the situation there.
