Morocco proposes a free trade area among OIC members
Morocco-Regional, Politics, 6/20/2005
Morocco Monday proposed the formation of a free trade area among Muslim nations as prelude to the creation of an ambitious Islamic Common Market to enhance intra-trade which can benefit nearly 1.3 billion Muslims.
Speaking at the "Enhancing Intra-OIC Trade-The Way Forward" session held in conjunction with the OIC Trade Forum and Exhibition, Deputy Director-general of Morocco's Islamic Centre for Development of Trade, Rahmouni Houcine said this could be a step forward to improve the low volume of trade among the 57 Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries.
