Qathafi presses for a united Africa

Libya's Leader Muammar al-Qathafi received yesterday Chairman of the African Union Commission, Alpha Omar Konare, who briefed the Leader on the outcomes reached by the 1st meeting that took place in Uganda by the Presidential Committee formed by Abuja summit to lay down the blueprint of Libya's proposals adopted by the mentioned summit, JANA reported.
"The proposals are related to the creation of the portfolios of ministers of foreign affairs , defense, external trade, transportation, and communication, at the African Union, as well as abolishing customs among AU member countries , and uniting customs tariffs in relation to third countries, and unifying communications, transportation, railways linking the union's countries, main ports, airports, and setting up one African satellite," the report said.
JANA said "Chairman of the AU Commission underlined during the meeting that the outcomes reached by the 1st meeting of the Presidential Committee were very positive and the second meeting would be held before the Union's forthcoming summit in Sirte to finish up preparations of the study to be submitted to Sirte Summit."
