Arab Sunni refuse middle solutions over the constitution
Iraq, Politics, 6/16/2005
The Iraqi constitution committee proposed a compromise solution to the Arab Sunni in order to end differences over getting them involved in the constitution formulation process.
The chairman of the committee Human Hammoudi said that the proposal states that 13 Arab Sunni members would form an extra commission for the constitution, so as members of the expanded committee will be 68 persons, who would submit decisions and proposals unanimously to the original constitutional commission which includes 55 members.
The spokesman for the Sunni bloc Adnan al-Duleimi once again refused Hammoudi's proposal, stressing cling to the Arab Sunni demand to get 25 of the seats.
