Hariri intensifies efforts in the Lebanese elections
Lebanon, Politics, 6/16/2005

In preparations for the fourth and last phase of the Lebanese parliamentary elections, Lebanese opposition figure Saad al-Hariri started to intensify his political efforts. He expressed his hope to achieve a surge once again following the sudden victory of his rival Michael Aoun.

The son of the late former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri urged his supporters to get up and go to vote in the elections to be held.

He said "we have to fight in order to get the seats." He said he will be in Tripoli for several days to support his allies and rally his supporters.

Hariri, who joined the political scene after the assassination of his father said he agrees with Aoun on several issues, especially the issues of reforms, but differs with him on his alliance with pro-Syrian politicians in Lebanon.
