Mubarak receives a message from Crown Prince Abdullah

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak yesterday received a message from Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Crown Prince during his meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal.
The meeting which was held at the Presidential Palace in Holiopolis dealt with the latest developments in the Arab region in general and in Syria and Lebanon in particular.
Emerging from the meeting, Prince Saud Al Faisal said the message he conveyed from Prince Abdullah to President Mubarak came in the framework of the sustained consultations between the two states adding he would convey a reply message from President Mubarak to the Saudi Crown Prince.
He denied that there was disagreement between Saudi Arabia and Yemen adding Saudi Arabia did-not call for Egypt's mediation in this affair. Prince Al Faisal said the health of King Fahd Bin Abdel Aziz was satisfactory adding he would be discharged from the hospital in the upcoming few days.
Meantime, ambassador Suleiman Awwad, the Presidential spokesman said the visit by Prince Saud Al Faisal to Egypt is the third one during the past three months adding that the message Al Faisal conveyed to President Mubarak came in the framework of the sustained and close consultations between the leaderships of both Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
On the latest developments on the Syrian and Lebanese arenas, ambassador Awwad said Egypt and Saudi Arabia were following with deep interest the developments since the adoption of the Security Council resolution 1559 and the implications of the assassination of former Lebanese Prime. Minister Rafiq El- Hariri.
Awwad referred to the latest statements by the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan that there were still some Syrian elements in Lebanon.
Answering a question on whether President Mubarak would visit Syria soon for consulting President Assad on the latest developments on the Syrian and lebanese arenas, ambassador Awwad said contacts by President Mubarak with all parties are continuing out of his interest in the positions in Syria and Lebanon.
On Whether the meeting touched on the position in Iraq, the presidential spokesman said the meeting touched on the Arab developments in general including the Iraqi file and the Brussels meeting which would be held on June 22 on Iraq.
Answering a question on security cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, the spokesman said this point was not touched on, indicating that all spheres of cooperation between the two states are open.
Awwad said that the meeting did not tackle the Saudi Yemeni disagreement which was tackled by the press adding that the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh would visit Egypt for meeting President Mubarak.
The meeting was attended by khaled Al Gandan, the chairman of the Arab desk at the Saudi Foreign ministry, and Saudi ambassador in Cairo Ibrahim Al Saad lbrahim.
