Rafsanjani stresses American failure to control energy resources in the region

Head of the Expediency Council in Iran, Hashemi Rafsanjani, said the U.S. entered the region to control resources of energy but failed to materialize its objectives.
Rafsanjani was quoted today by the Iranian News Agency MEHR as saying that the U.S. administration reaped adverse consequences of its occupation of Iraq.
The Iranian senior official added during a meeting with several lawyers and legal advisors that if the U.S. is willing to keep energy resources in the region safe, then it has to respect the will of its peoples.
