Syria is setting up finance system: minister

Minister of Trade and Economy said on Tuesday Syria is working now on fixing her financial policies and the finance system.

"This move requires currency reform and to commence an inclination towards the exchange rate liberalization," Amer Hosni Lutfi told a visiting Austrian delegation.

He added that "Syria is working in a parallel way as to liberate foreign trade and build the needed investment atmosphere to attract more investment mainly that the Syrian economy is promising and it needs a lot of capitals to be invested in various fields." Head of the Austrian delegation who is directing the Middle East and Near East Department at the Austrian Foreign Ministry saw that Syria is a promising country that has many investments sites.

"We have to cooperate with Syria and to boost cooperation with her as well support her by advanced technology in a nonstop way," Schroeder said urging at the same time to cement ties between the private sector in both countries as to build joint investments.
