Barazani takes oath as president for Iraq's Kurdistan

In political developments in Iraq, the Kurdistani Democratic Party leader Masoud al-Barazani took his constitutional oath as a president for Iraq's Kurdistan region for four years after his alley Jalal al-Talibani was elected as a president for Iraq.
Barazani was elected unanimously by the Kurdish parliament which was convened for the first time several days ago that postponed its convening because following differences between the two main Kurdish parties.
The ceremony held for that purpose was attended by al-Talibani, his two vice presidents Adel Abdul Mahdi and Ghazi Elyawer, the deputy premier Ahmad Chalabi, the speaker of the national society Hajem al-Hosni as well as several ministers and heads of certain political parties.
The celebration was also attended by the UN representative to Iraq, Ashraf Qadi, and many ambassadors accredited in Baghdad.
