Egyptian liquefied gas exports to the US
Egypt-USA, Economics, 6/14/2005
The second pilot shipment of Egyptian liquefied gas will be exported to the United States Tuesday.
Shell Egypt sponsors the export of 130,000 cubic meters of gas to the US from the Egyptian northern governorate of El- Behira.
The company was awarded the exportation right through a highly competitive bidding among international oil corporations, said a shell official source.
The first pilot gas shipment was exported in May of last year to Italy.
The Egyptian liquefied gas project in the Edco area is undertaken by the Egyptian Company for Liquefied Natural Gas, British Gas and Malaysia's PetroNas companies.
It exports natural gas to France, the US and Italy with investments worth $ 1.9 billion.
