Chirac, Mubarak discuss developments in Lebanon, Syria

In a telephone call, the French President Jacque Chirac discussed with his Egyptian counterpart Hosni Mubarak on Monday conditions in the Middle East including the peace process efforts and developments on the Lebanese and Syrian arenas.
A statement by the Elysee palace said that the talks dealt with the regional situation especially in the Middle East and Iraq and supporting the efforts of the African Union to contain the situation in the Sudanese Darfur district.
