Egyptian foreign minister and the Palestinian state
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 6/14/2005
Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit said the current stage in the history of the Palestinian issue is critical as there is an important chance represented by Arab and international unanimous agreement on the creation of a Palestinian independent state.
Abu al-Gheit on Monday told a forum on "Media and Peace in the Middle East" held in Cairo that opinion polls stress that the Palestinian people aspire for real peace based on ending the Israeli occupation by negotiations.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister added that the policy of occupation and settlement would never bring about peace to any one.
