Berri and the Lebanese elections
Lebanon, Politics, 6/14/2005
Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri said the third stage of Lebanese general elections in the Bekaa and Hirmel areas reflected strong support to the national Lebanese resistance to defend the nation.
Berri, in a congratulation message on Monday over the results of these elections, said Bekaa and Hirmel, as South Lebanon, sent a message through the elections on the necessity of backing the Lebanese resistance, particularly at this time where Lebanon and the region are under varied pressure. The Lebanese senior official called on those elected to outline their priorities to be discussed with the Lebanese government and improve the living situations of their constituencies.
