Egypt, Politics, 6/13/2005

In accordance with President Hosni Mubarak's directives to the Premier, Ahmed Nazif, the Egyptian government will launch over the coming days a series of meetings for preparing the executive programs of the "third generation of economic reform."

The third generation for economic reform includes the implementation of the first system of the social security which is considered the umbrella for the low-income brackets through providing them with all the necessary services and needs.

In addition, it aims at gradual minimizing the categories wanting the subsidy through raising their income as well as providing them with advanced health and insurance services.

The government also, through Export Development Bank of Egypt, allocates one billion pounds to support the exporters.

On the other hand, the system includes the allocation of one billion pounds for boosting the small enterprises through the Social Fund for Development.
