Lahoud clings to complete his presidential term of office in Lebanon

In another development, the Lebanese president Emil Lahoud on Sunday while casting his vote in Baabdat at al-Matin circle renewed his cling to complete his presidential term of office until "the last moment." This was in reaction to the call to resign regularly called for by the opposition.

Lahoud explained "If they consider that the unification of the army, the liberation of the land, fighting corruption, as much as possible is the highest treason, then let them try me." Worthy mentioning that there is no certain mechanism to remove the President of the Republic in Lebanon with the except for "capital treason."

The opposition's follow up committee which includes al-Hariri- Junblat trend, and Qurnet Shahwan Christian meeting which demands the resignation of Lahoud decided by the beginning of June to postpone a movement directed against Lahoud until after the elections.
