Yemen supports Iran's rights for nuclear development
Yemen-Iran, Politics, 6/10/2005
Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Hassan Rowhani, in a meeting yesterday with Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Saleh, Òelaborated on security threats posed upon Persian Gulf region, calling for regional countries' cooperation to establish stability, security, and peace in the region,Ó IRNA reported.
IRNA reported ÒRowhani assessed Iran's nuclear activities as completely peaceful and within the framework of international laws, saying Iran has taken major strides toward confidence-building and cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).Ó He said that the effort by the US and some European countries to deprive Iran of modern technology is Òa new form of exploitation.Ó
President Saleh said Iran has the right to make use of nuclear technology within the framework of international rules and Òto provide nuclear fuel for its power plants,Ó IRNA reported, adding ÒRegional states are not worried about Tehran's peaceful nuclear activities, but they are concerned about Israel's nuclear arsenals.Ó
