Egypt-US detailed discussions on free-trade zone treaty underway

The US deputy trade representative in Cairo, Peter Allgeier, said yesterday that talks are underway between Egypt and the United States to establish a joint free-trade zone.
He said that the US is conducting a thorough study on the recent economic reforms introduced by the Egyptian government and how they could prove effective to hammer out a free-trade zone agreement.
