Azmi: New tax law received widespread discussion

Zakaria Azmi, the Chief of the Presidential cabinet in Egypt said in his statement before the gathering, that the "new income tax was discussed by different party and political affiliations before being sent to the President for signature."
He said wide range debates on the law reflected the interest of all People's Assembly members in discussing all details of the law with the aim of serving the interests of citizens; he then invited President Mubarak to sign the law.
Finance Minister Youssef Butros Ghali addressed the ceremony saying this law would enable Egypt of merging into the world economy.
He said this law was discussed by men of finance, economy, bussiness community and the civil society before being discussed by the Shura Council and the People's Assembly.
He said this law will have good results and will spur economic development in Egypt.
