Egyptian actor dies of cancer

After a long struggle with cancer, renowned Egyptian actor Abdulla Mahmoud died on Thursday evening in one of Cairo's hospitals.

The late actor struggled with cancer that spread all over his body, and parts of his brain were removed before his death at hospital where he was being treated.

Actor Abdullah started his cinema career 25 years ago in "Iskandareyah Leeh" ( Why Alexandria) by the renowned film maker Youssef Shaheen. His other famous films were "al-Mutating Mari" ( the citizen is Egyptian); "al-Balham" ( the sweat of dates); "al-Taw Wall Sara" ( the bracelet and the necklace) and "Afar it al-Asphalt" which got several prizes including Johannesburg, the film society and the film society and the prize of the national center for cinema.
