Kurdistani national council retifies local law on election

In the internal Iraqi political field, the Kurdistani national council ratified a draft law of the presidency of Iraq's Kurdistan district which was proposed by the two main Kurdish parties, states that Masoud al-Barazani will assume presidency for four years.
The law of the district's presidency states that the citizens of Iraq's Kurdistan are to elect through direct secret general voting a president for the district representing them, talking on their behalf at the internal and external levels, and assumes coordination between the federal authorities and the district's authorities.
However, in this session, a chairman for the district will be elected by the national council for Kurdistan but to be elected in the next session by citizens in direct elections.
The law also states that presidency duration for the district to be four years and the president has the right to nominate himself for a second term of office.
