King Mohammed sends message to Mauritanian President

Mauritanian President, Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya received in Nouakchott Wednesday Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa who conveyed to the Mauritanian President a message from King Mohammed VI.
Benaissa told the press that he extended to the Mauritanian President condolences from king Mohammed VI and all Moroccan people following the barbaric aggression that befell Mauritania and killed innocent victims.
He voiced, in the name of king Mohammed VI, the sheer solidarity of the kingdom and "our constant sympathy towards the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and our Mauritanian brothers."
The visiting minister discussed with the Mauritanian President the Moroccan-Mauritanian relations in a bid to energise the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) process.
Benaissa, on a tour to some Maghreban countries, conveyed a Royal message to Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali on issues relating to Moroccan-Tunisian relations and to the development of the Arab Maghreb Union.
In a similar message to Libyan leader Muammar al-Qathafi, the Moroccan King called for "energizing and developing the Maghreb Arab Union." The message delivered Tuesday by Benaissa, also touched on preparing the "appropriate conditions for holding the chairmanship Council of the Union."
