Jordan calls on Israel to stop aggression on al-Aqsa
Jordan-Israel, Politics, 6/9/2005
Jordanian government called on Israel on Wednesday to stop all attempts targeting al-Aqsa Mosque, describing as "a dangerous escalation" the recent Jewish storming of the holy place.
In a statement, the Jordanian government stressed that "the Jewish attack on al-Aqsa Mosque a few days ago is an escalation against Arab and international efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region." The statement also called for proper procedures to protect holy places, saying "Jordanian government authorized its ambassador to Israel to convey to the Israeli government Amman's stance over this issue."
