Preparations underway for third phase of Lebanese elections

Preparations are underway for the third phase of the Lebanese parliamentary elections in the Bekaa area and the Mount of Lebanon next Sunday.

It is expected that Baabda-Aley circle will witness a heated battle in confrontations between the opposition list and the list of Michael Aoun who is allying with the Druze leader Talal Arsalan, Syria's alley and the traditional rival of the leader of the Socialist Progressive party Walid Junblat.

The alliance of Hizbullah and the Amal movement harvested all seats specialized for the Shiite sect of 14 seats in the second phase of the elections took placed last Sunday.

Supporters of the Shiite list from other sects won the other 9 seats. Five seats for the Christians, three for the Sunni and one for the Druze.
