Syrian policeman killed, four Kurds injured in al-Qamishli

One Syrian policeman was killed and other four persons were injured in confrontation that took place yesterday in al-Qamishli city, following acts of protests carried out by Kurds over the assassination of the Kurdish Sheikh Muhammad Mashouq al-Khaznawi in vague circumstances.
This news was confirmed by medical sources in al-Qamishli hospital ( north east of Syria) on Monday.
The sources added that another policeman was injured while four Kurds were injured in the confrontations which followed a demonstration of protest that included 5000 demonstrated in response to an appeal by the Kurdish Freedom party deploring the killing of al-Khaznawi.
Sources said that the police used tear gas and fired bullets in air to disperse the demonstrators.
