Weapon storage facility for Iraqi gunmen found

The American army announced on Monday it found a shelter used by Iraqi gunmen to store weapons to the south of Baghdad and destroyed it. This was after finding a similar shelter to the west of Baghdad on Sunday.

The American army said it destroyed a shelter for the former Republican Guards in al-Yousefeyah city to the south west of Baghdad following information from local citizens and after monitoring the area.

A statement by the army said the coalition forces fired at the site five bombs, explosions took place inside the complex after its bombardment earlier in the day on Monday.

On Sunday, the American army found a network of fortifications under ground at 275 meters length and a width of 170 meters to the north of al-Karma city ( 60 km to the west of Baghdad ).
