Two people condemned to capital punishment for 'premeditated murder'

Two members of the terrorist "Alhijra wa takfir" group, belonging to the cell of Nador, North-East Morocco, were sentenced to capital punishment by the Rabat Appellate court.

S.L, 41 trading in electronic appliances, and H.H, 24 without a profession, were condemned for "premeditated murder," "beheading and hiding the corpse" of the victim in Nador, as well as for setting up a criminal gang to perpetrate terrorist acts and activity in a non recognised association and holding of non authorised public meetings.

The court also condemned M.B to 20 years in seclusion, while A.Z and N.L were sentenced to a 15 year imprisonment term. B.S was condemned to four year, A.K, A.C, M.N, L.K, M.B and A.J to three years. A.Ch verdict was one year, while A.F was acquitted.

The condemned were charged with criminal band setting up to commit terrorist acts, raising and handling funds to use for terrorist acts, activity in a non recognised association and holding of non authorised public meetings.

The court, in another case, condemned S.Z to two years in prison and O.T to a MAD 5,000 fine for activity in a non recognised association and holding of non authorised public meetings.

The court criminal chamber ruled to defer to June 24th and July 1st, the hearing of two other trials involving 13 individuals charged with "criminal association to commit terrorist acts, explosive making and possession to perpetrate public disturbances, activity in a non recognised association and holding of non authorised public meetings," MAP reported.
