Killers of Sheikh Khaznawi admit their crime

Kidnappers and killers of the Syrian Sheikh Mashouq al-Khaznawi confessed on Friday evening their crime against the sheikh, and said they killed him because he deviated from the religious line of his father.
In an interview with Syrian daily al-Thawra, the two criminals Mohammed Matar al-Abdullah and Yassin Matar al-Hindi from Deir al-Zour in northeast Syria spoke about the killing and gave detailes on the crime circumstances and their motives for the crime.
Syrian official sources said on Wednesday "the action was purely criminal and Sheikh Khaznawi was not arrested by any security sides as some biased media sources circulated."
"We have killed Sheikh Khaznawi because he has departed from the religious way of his father Sheikh Ezziddin al-Khaznawi and prejudiced it in addition to his appearance at the satellite channels, a matter that poses as a deviation from the way," Mohammed Matar al-Abdullha said.
He noted the Sheikh Khaznawi was suffocated by a pillow by both confessors and moved from Aleppo to Deir al-Zour by car to be buried at a grave for anther person.
Abudullaha said the kidnapping took place on May 10th in Damascus.
The first magistrate in Damascus Khaled Hammoud told the paper all investigations related to Sheikh Khaznawi killing proved that they come as "criminal action and carry no other characteristics but crime."
