Lebanese figures on the strengthen of ties with Syria

Higher Islamic Religious Council in Lebanon on Wednesday underlined the importance of building fraternal and cooperative relations with Syria based on national factors to face dangers of the continued Israeli threats.

The Council, following a meeting headed by Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabani, called for protecting the resistance and preserving its weapons which confront the Israeli enemy.

For his part, Chairman of Lebanese Nujadah Party Mostafa al-Hakim called the coming parliament and government to adhere to national and pan-Arab stances, on top of which, keeping the unity of track and destiny between Syria and Lebanon.

He added that the only means for the Lebanese to avoid the US and western pressure is the national unity and the alliance with Syria which constitutes Lebanon's depth in terms of strategy.
