Egyptian security delegation winds up visit to Palestinian territories

A high-profile Egyptian security delegation led by General Moustafa Al-Behiri wrapped up yesterday a week long visit to the Palestinian territories.
The delegation held a series of talks with Palestinian officials and faction leaders in an effort to cement the Palestinian unity.
The delegation left for Cairo following a meeting with Palestinian Chief negotiator Saeb Erekat in the West Bank City of Jericho.
The delegation has succeeded in dispelling tension between Fattah and Hamas movements, which were triggered by the results of the second phase of the municipal elections.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Fatah movement said yesterday Israel is responsible for the unjustifiable military escalation against the Palestinians.
ln a statement issued yesterday, the resistance movement called on the international community, the UN Security Council and the international quartet to exert their best efforts to put an end to the Israeli aggressive policies.
Fatah condemned yesterday's shelling of Palestinian houses in Tal Al-Zaatar by an Israeli reconnaissance plane that left scores injured.
