Former Lebanese premier: US policy controlled by Zionists
Lebanon-USA, Politics, 5/31/2005

Former Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss said on Monday Washington's policy in the Middle East is controlled by the Zionist priorities and firmly established conceptions.

"The US fierce war on what it calls terror is but a war on forces disturbing Israel and being hostile to her. Israel's campaign on Syria would have never existed was it not for Syria's distinctive stance," Hoss said in an article to Lebanese Assafir daily.

He noted that the United States goals in Lebanon were to achieve a scheme in the region which is the "Greater Middle East" that aims at knocking down the idea of "Arabism" and subjugating the region to the Zionist hegemony.

"This scheme is to divide the region into ethnic and sectarian entities with no harmony and that are unviable in addition to disarming the resistance and consolidating settlement," he added.
