Syria encourages tourist, investment sectors

Syrian government is paying a great attention and doubling efforts to encourage investment and tourism sectors in Syria and pushing them forward, Premier Naji Otari said during the inauguration of Queen Center Rotana Suites Hotel in Mezza neighborhood, in Damascus, yesterday.

In a statement to SANA, Otari added that opening of such a tourist establishment is considered an important step in the sake of developing tourist sector that the government is giving priority to.

" The ongoing changes and modernization processes in banking and monetary sectors to create a safe atmosphere for investment are moving in speedy steps." Ottri indicated.

"This year will witness a number of important tourist projects where there are 16 positions to be contracted on in the forthcoming 15 months, five outside bureaus for commission of tourist circulation will be opened in a number of world's capitals," Tourism Minister Sadalla Agha al-Qalaa said pointing out that many rehabilitation institutes and schools were licensed.

This project is established by the Emirati Rotana Group in cooperation with a number of Syria businessmen.

The 11 stories hotel includes 191 rooms with capacity of 230 beds, sports club equipped with modern sport requirements, place for rest, room for businessmen, suites and various restaurants.
