Iraq, Military, 5/31/2005
Five Americans were killed in an American plane crash in Khanqin area in Deyali governorate to the north east of Baghdad, according to the joint coordination office for the American and Iraqi forces in Baqouba city.
A statement for the American army said that one plane for the Iraqi air forces crashed, manned by four American soldiers and one Iraqi, but the statements did not define the fate of the soldiers nor the reason behind the crash or the type of the plane and the units to which the soldiers affiliate.
The statement read that the plane crashed on May 30 and was on a mission in Deyali governorate, adding that the American army headed to the place of the crashed plane and imposed a security belt.
The crash of this plane came four days after the crash of one American military plane as it was exposed to fire near Baqpouba to the north east of Baghdad and this resulted in killing its team members.
