Yemen: death penalty for a supporter to al-Houthi over contacting Iran

The state security court in Yemen on Sunday sentenced to death a Zeidi man of religion and sentencing another 8 years after they were found guilty in contacting with Iran to support the rebellion of the Zeidi scholar Hussein Bader Eddine al-Houthi in the north of Yemen.

The chief of the court judge Najib al-Qadiri announced that the death penalty for Yahya Hussein al-Duleimi, noting that al-Duleimi was contacting Iran's ambassador and asked him to support the "Sanaa youth organization" and traveled to Iran and contacted the Iranian state to support his brother in Yemen to carry out an Islamic revolution,and took a group to train them and provide them with books, references and draw a policy for their organization.

Lawyer Muhammad al-Azzami said that the sentence will be filed to the court of cassation. This sentence needs the ratification of the supreme court and the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The court also sentenced the imprisonment of Muhammad Ahmad Miftah for 8 years over "supporting al-Houthi rebellion and founding Sanaa youths group."
