American helicopter downed in Baqouba

In a new development in Iraq, the American and Iraqi forces in Baqouba started breaking in operation in the area where two American soldiers were killed on Friday after the fire of light weapons targeted the helicopter which they were riding.
A source in the Iraqi police said that some 15 suspects were held from the people of the region and mortars and weapons were confiscated, adding the breaking in operation is still continuous.
The Iraqi police source in Bahrouz said that one missile was fired at two helicopters that arrived to provide supplies to support one American convoy and this resulted in downing one of them. However, the American army said that the two helicopters were hit by light weapons and this resulted in killing two of its soldiers.
In the battle field, some 1000 American and Iraqi soldiers continued their military operations in Haditha area to the north west of Baghdad to chase armed members linked to al-Qaida organization believed to have moved there following operations targeted them in al-Qaem border area. Some 11 gunmen and one American soldiers were killed in Haditha since the beginning of this operation on Wednesday.
There were reports about western diplomatic sources confirming that the leadership of the American forces proposed to Washington to establish a buffer zone on the Syrian- Iraqi borders at a depth of 10 km. This is a serious attempt by the American administration to find ways of dealing with Syria.
Five Iraqis were killed in various attacks in Iraq. The police in Musil confirmed the killing of one police man and injuring four in one explosion followed by an attack by machine guns targeted a police procession.
In Tikrit, three Iraqis were killed and other 18 injured including 6 policemen in a bomb explosion targeted one police center in the city.
In another attack, two Iraqi soldiers were injured in an attack by two gunmen targeted a procession for the Iraqi army near al-Dajil to the north of the capital, while gunmen could injure the police chief in Beji Col. Saad Nafous and his assistant when they attacked the police directorate center.
