Iran's foreign minister defends Hizbullah party

The Iranian foreign minister Kamal Kharazi on Thursday defended the Lebanese Hizbullah party, stressing that it is not a militia rather a resistance movement supported by the Lebanese people.
Kharazi said in statements he made in Beirut on Thursday which he had arrived earlier in the day, that Lebanon's people and government will not permit others to interfere in their affairs, adding that the Lebanese people are able to surpass this phase successfully.
The statements of the Iranian foreign minister, currently visiting Lebanon to take part in the celebration of the fifth anniversary for the liberation of its lands following talks with his Lebanese peer Mahmoud Hammoud to be followed by a meeting with the Lebanese President Emil Lahoud.
Commenting on UN resolution which states dismantling the weapons of Hizbullah party, Kharazi recalled that the position of the Lebanese government states cling to resistance. He said that there are no militias named Hizbullah in Lebanon, rather a resistance by the Lebanese people.
