Bush criticizes the Egyptian government attacks of peaceful demonstrators

The US President George W. Bush criticized the attacks against Egyptian demonstrators during the voting operations on the referendum on amending article 76 of the constitution that took place on Wednesday.

Bush said in a press conference in the White House that confronting the opposers of the government by beating does not comply with his country's concept about democracy."

He expressed his hope that a free elections that wins the confidence of all will be taking place in Egypt. Earlier, the White House deplored what it called the attacks which targeted demonstrators in Egypt. The spokesman for the White House Scott McClellan said that there are no excuses for attacks which target peaceful demonstrators.
