Israel boycotting offices appeal to boycott the US Webster dictionary
Regional-USA, Politics, 5/27/2005
Liaison officers of Israel boycotting regional offices demanded Thursday to confiscate every copy of US "Webster" dictionary due to its definitions of the words "Arab," "Islam" and "anti-Semitist."
During the end of their 74th conference, liaison officers recommended "facing the racial trend and scientific distortion" illustrated by the latest copy of the academic US dictionary "Webster" by boycotting and confiscating the dictionary until it is corrected.
"Webster" identified "anti-Semitist" as opposing Zionism and sympathizing with Israel's enemies.
They called upon the European Union to keep products of the Israeli settlements away from their markets due to their being "illegal" and represent an "obvious violation" of the international law.
"Economic boycotting against Israel is a peaceful and legal instrument of resistance ... it is considered a strong support for the Palestinian people in their struggle against the Israeli aggression," officers said.
Liaison Officers of Israel Boycotting Regional Offices two-day conference was held in Damascus on 23 May where it stressed the significance of cooperation and coordination between the formal boycotting bodies and public boycotting committees all over the Arab countries.
It also underlined the necessity of activating cooperation between the Arab boycotting main office and the Islamic one.
