12 Iraqis killed in acts of violence in Iraq

Acts of violence in various parts of Iraq resulted in killing 12 persons and injuring others.
The Iraqi ministry of the interior announced that unidentified gunmen opened fire at Thamer Gheidan who is the director general of the ministry of industry and minerals in al-Mustansereyah quarters in the downtown of Baghdad.
The same source said that gunmen killed in Baghdad the owner of a restaurant who is a member in the Higher Council For the Islamic Revolution and injured his son and four clients who were at the restaurant when the gunmen entered.
For its part, the Ansar al-Sunah army group claimed responsibility for the blowing of a booby trapped car in al-Shu'la quarters in the north west of Baghdad targeting a vehicle for the Iraqi police and resulted in killing two policemen and one civilian and injuring 6 policemen and two civilians.
Other three Iraqi civilians were killed and other 4 injured when the American forces opened fire at their bus in an area close to al-Doura.
The driver of the bus said he was surprised by the bullets of the Americans after he had stopped his bus on the road side to permit an American convoy running behind him to pass, noting that all passengers were under 20 year old and that two of them are in critical health conditions.
A professor at al-Musatnsereyah university and other three persons accompanying him were killed while he was in his way to work, when an armed group opened fire at them.
In al-Ghazaleyah, unidentified gunmen attacked the house if the secretary of the Iraqi minister of the interior Hikmat Mousa Salman and this resulted in injuring four policemen who were near his house while he was outside the house.
Meantime, a medical source in Tel-Afar city to the north of Iraq said that four persons including two children were killed and other 14 injured in clashes between gunmen and a joint force from the Iraqi army and the American forces on Wednesday evening in the city.
In Karkouk the police said that one booby trapped dog was blown off as one vehicle for the Iraqi army was running on the highway. The attack resulted in no casualties.
In another development, one official in al-Kout governorate said that the Ministry of the Interior evacuated on Thursday to Iran 400 Iranians and Afghanis who were detained months before for entering Iraq illegally.
Moreover, the Iraqi minister of the interior Soulang announced the detention of the son of the sister of the Iraqi Vice President Ghazi Elyawer under the charge of having relations with "the terrorist cells" which are active in Iraq.
