Rice calls for 'maximum effort' on Middle East peace

The current state of affairs between Israelis and Palestinians is "a time of opportunity" that "has to be seized," says US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.Ê Israel's withdrawal from Gaza affords "historic opportunities" that the two sides must make successful, Rice tells reporters for Agence France Presse.
