International conference for palestinian refugees: preliminary forum
Palestine-Regional, Politics, 5/25/2005
The 3-day preliminary meetings of the International Conference on civil Rights for Palestinian Refugees started meetings in Sanaa, Yemen titled "Palestinian Refugees have a Right to Return Home ... Right to Live."
The participants will discuss the legal status of the Palestinian refugees under the UN and the Arab League resolutions, their civil rights as stated by international charters as well as the agreements signed between UNRWA and the host governments.
Yemeni Human Rights Minister Amat Al-Aleem Al-Susua said in an opening speech overnight that her country fully supported the Palestinians and their right of return and resisting the occupiers.
She added that international silence over the Palestinian issue encouraged Israel to commit more "barbaric crimes" against the Palestinian people, stressing that driving the Palestinians out of their houses and denting their right to return contradict the international charters and treaties.
