Morocco government employees to work continuous hours
Morocco, Economics, 5/24/2005

Continuous work hours will be permanently adopted in administrations and public services, announced Monday Moroccan Prime Minister, Driss Jettou.

The premier, who was presenting the government's action before the House of Representatives (lower house), said this proposal has received "HM King Mohammed VI's approval."

Under the new move, public administrations will work a continuous shift a day, instead of two shifts.

This option, said Jettou, was adopted after "an accurate assessment of its positive and negative impacts on public issues, citizens' interests, national economy, public servants, administrations and services, energy consumption, and Morocco's relations with regional and international partners."

Jettou also announced that the monarch ordered the addition of an hour to the Greenwich Meantime during the summer.
