Syrian -Pakistani oil and gas cooperation

Syria and Pakistan on Monday discussed means of enhancing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of oil, gas and phosphate.
Syria's Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Haddad briefed his Pakistani counterpart Amanullah Khan during a meeting on the announcement made by the ministry to call international firms to explore new oil regions in Syria.
He referred to the important regional project of gas that comes from Egypt crossing Jordan to Syria, then to Europe, saying that the first phase of the project was done and the second will be accomplished soon.
The minister called on the Pakistani firms to participate in the international tenders that the ministry announce to explore for oil on Syrian lands and erect gas pipelines.
The Pakistani Minister, for his part, expressed readiness to boost cooperation between the two countries on all levels, referring to the possibility of importing phosphate from Syria and participating in the announced tenders to expand joint cooperation.
