Regional-Palestine, Politics, 5/23/2005
Islamic scholars called Sunday for enhancing the Muslim nations unity to avoid sectarian partition and protecting the Islamic mission by stressing and boosting its firm principles in order to face all aggressive attacks against Islam.
Scholars underlined, during the opening ceremony of Bilad al-Sham Islamic Scholars Meeting, the necessity of encouraging every joint economic, social or cultural interaction, calling upon the international community to support Arab people's fair struggle in both Palestine and Iraq.
First session within the frame work of the meeting's activities was held on discussing issue of Jerusalem and facing the judaization campaign against it as well as Islamic scholars' role regarding enhancing the nation's unity and avoiding sectarian partition.
Palestine's Chief Judge Sheikh Tayssir Rajab al-Tamimi talked during the session about Jerusalem and its importance for all Muslims around the world.
He showed "Judaization procedures and aggressions by the Zionist enemy against Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque paying no heed to their religious positions for all Muslims in all over the world."
Sheikh al-Tamimi pointed out at the racial separation wall which Israel is building now, clarifying that it represents a new image of land usurpation as well as another kind of oppression against the Palestinians to force them to leave their own homeland.
He went on to say that there are some Zionist organizations and movements that are seeking to destroy al-Aqsa Mosque, calling upon the international community and the Arab and Islamic countries for shouldering the responsibility to stop such Israeli plans and to defend al-Aqsa by all possible means.
