London newspaper's use of Saddam Hussein photos unauthorized

U.S. military officials in Iraq condemned the unauthorized publication of photographs of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein in BritainÕs newspaper The Sun.
Officials issued a statement May 20 saying that the photographs of the imprisoned Saddam Hussein in his underwear Òwere taken in clear violationÓ of U.S. Defense Department directives Òand, possibly, Geneva Convention guidelines for the humane treatment of detained individuals.Ó
