Lebanon condemns foreign intervention in internal affairs
Lebanon-Regional, Politics, 5/21/2005
Lebanon on Friday denounced the foreign intervention in Lebanese interior affairs and forthcoming Lebanese elections scheduled at the end of the current May.
"Moves of the US and French ambassadors in Lebanon have various goals targeting disarmament of the national resistance," Lebanese MP Osama Saad said stressing that the national resistance is an education, belongingness and national duty.
Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Shiite Higher Council in Lebanon Abdul Amir Qabalan said that Lebanon doesn't want neither French nor international mandate over its lands.
During a meeting with French Ambassador in Lebanon, Bernard Emie, Qabalan called France to play more active role in the Middle East in favor of giving the Palestinian people his legitimate rights as well implementing the international resolutions Nos. 194, 242 and 338. Qabalan and Emie also reviewed the situation in Lebanon and the region as a whole.
