Syrian industrialist for improving production quality

Syrian industrialists pledged Thursday to improve production quality as to boost national economy while the government said the first industrial conference posed as a successful step to find out industry needs in Syria.

In a joint press conference to reflect on the First Industrial Conference held in Damascus Wednesday with the participation of over 500 Syrian industrialists from the private sector, Chairman of Damascus Chamber of Industry Samer al-Dibse said the meeting was a national day for the Syrian industry.

"We are committed to do all what we can to improve the quality of the Syrian product and its matching with the international standards in addition we will exert a genuine contribution to boost the national economy," Dibse said.

For his part Secretary of the council of ministers presidency Maher Mojtahed said the motto of the gathering had focused on the necessity to find the appropriate place for Syrian products in international markets with competing prices.

"The conference has been a success step to study the Syrian industry requirements in framework of the new inclination of the government," Mojtahed added.

Minister of Finance Mohamed Al-Hussein called upon Syrian industrialists to "adopt practical and tangible procedures to develop sector of industry in light of facilities given to them by the government." "The ministry and in cooperation with all concerned parties has worked in a serious way to boot and catalyze the national industry by laws and legislations that issued and which will contribute to allow our national industry enter the international markets and compete other industries," he said.

Minister of Economy, Amer Hosni Lufti noted the role of his ministry will take into consideration all view points of concerned parties to make the decision be issued in the right way and that there is a need to modify these decision whenever it is necessary.

"The ministry is going to back the national product via protection of emerging industries law to allow the competition in Arab and international markets," he added.
