Mahatheir Muhammad is in Damascus

The former Malaysian prime minister Mhatheir Muhammad accompanied by his wife arrived in Damascus on Thursday to take part in the activities of the International Forum on Women in Business which starts deliberations tomorrow Saturday in Damascus.
News reports quoted Mahatheir as saying that his participation in the forum "falls in the course of the strong relations linking Syria and Malaysia; relations which the forum constitutes a good opportunity to enhance and give a push forward." Mahatheir considered that the experience of the Syrian woman is very close to that of the Malaysian woman, noting that Syrian women are witnessing a rich and an open experience in comparison with their peers in the region. He said he will discuss at the forum, the experience of the Malaysian women in the business sector and will learn about the experiences of participants in this regard.
