King Abdullah for Syria-US dialogue
Jordan-Syria, Politics, 5/20/2005
King of Jordan Abdullah II has called for the necessity for a dialogue between Syria and the United States regarding the pending issues.
In an interview published by the London-based Arabic language daily al-Hayat today, King Abdullah underlined that the required peace in the Middle East is the peace that puts an end to occupation, consolidate justice, and leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state. He added that any incomplete peace that doesn't lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state will not succeed.
King Abdullah stressed the aspiration for having a Middle East free of nuclear weapons including Israel, and that the region will not enjoy security and peace until it gets rid of the biggest nuclear threat which is represented by the Israeli nuclear arsenal.
